It is the highest peak of the Kaçkar range. Two of the four rare glaciers that still exist in the range are located on the slopes of this mountain. It is the busiest mountain in the region in terms of mountaineering tourism. The ascent is via two main classic routes. For the southern one, Dilberdüzü Camping area, which can be reached via Olgunlar Village in Artvin’s Yusufeli district, is used. The southern route approach promises a long but not technically challenging climb. For the northern route, Mezovit (Oküz Yatağı) camping area, which can be reached via the Çamlıhemşin/Ayder/Yukarı Kavrun route, is preferred. Its approach is short and requires a technically more difficult climb than the south. After the gate at 3600 meters, which is reached by the route passing through the extremely shady area, hands are also included in the climb. Trans actions from north to south or south to north are quite popular. For more experienced climbers, there are also options to climb via the Big or Little Glacier. You can also climb the Mezovit peak on the same day, without deviating too much from the route.
